Q) i have hears loads of people talking about holidays to america really really cheap one guy said £29 i almost fell over, does anyone know where i can find these cheap holidays or flights???

A) There's nothing as cheap as £29 yet, but http://www.flyzoom.com has it for £49+taxes each way. And the Ryanair guy (Michael O'Leary) has been talking about starting his own airline to offer seats to America for £7--Ryanair-style, of course. There's some really cheap stuff to Canada if you check different dates here: http://www.canadian-affair.com I just checked Zoom for you, and there's seats available in Sept/Oct at £49 each way, but with taxes £251.75 return (total). Not bad. Globespan are also serving New York now, and Canada, but not as cheaply as Zoom or Canadian Affair currently (the latter uses Air Transat and Thos. Cook).

A) where are you travelling from? i always go to the airports' website, in your case www.bhx.co.uk I look at departure/arrival times and the airlines. If British Airways are flying, I then go to their website directly and book a flight. It is the cheapest option going to airlines DIRECTLY as travel agents/websites always take a cut. If this hasent worked try expedia.co.uk or simply type into google.co.uk cheap flights. Its also worth booking your flights at the last minute possible to get them cheaper.

A) When you are looking for cheap airfair, go to actual airline web sites. Look at prices for cheaper airlines, like Southwest Airlines, Airtran Airways, and Spirit airlines. The smaller airlines often have more lower prices, than the bigger major airlines. I recently traveled on Airtran Airways this spring, and we saved more money, then if we were to travel on a bigger airline. Sometimes it is cheaper to fly out of a certain airport, during a certain time of the day. If you can, avoid travelocity.com and web site like that. I heard that they charge you for using their web site, when you book a flight with them. My point is, go on the web sites for the airlines I mentioned. Yes they don't fly to every airport, but look it up first, then decide what airline to fly.

Southwest is coming up a few dollars more, at $242. All of these connect--there are no nonstop flights between Tucson and Portland (the closest major airport to Salem). Best to book direct from the airline for the cheapest fares, and to avoid additional booking fees.
